Make sure to join us this coming Sunday for a rare and intimate dialogue at the leading edge with Ram Dass.
Ram Dass has always shared his life experiences authentically and transparently while offering a wealth of timeless teachings on awakening, service, love, and the path of the heart. He’s been one of the key people who has helped create contemporary progressive spiritual culture, and thus he played an important role in laying the ground for the leading-edge conversation that’s taking place here in Beyond Awakening.
Now, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the publication of Be Here Now Harper Collins has just released his new book, Be Love Now, a deeply personal and wonderfully universal book that guides us through the pitfalls and perils of our own spiritual path, recognizing the whole thing—beginning to end, inside out, top to bottom—as a matter of love, first, last and always. Ram Dass will join Terry in a rare and touching dialog exploring how our spirituality relates to the questions of our time—large and small—communicating the heart of this most essential truth.
About Ram Dass:
Ram Dass is one of America’s most beloved teachers of a universal spirituality. He sparked a spiritual and cultural transformation forty years ago with his book Be Here Now. This landmark classic — and his articulate and soulful example —inspired an entire generation to a new set of spiritual values, influenced profoundly by the wisdom of Eastern spiritual traditions. Over the past four decades Ram Dass has been an inspiration and catalyst for seekers worldwide, challenging people everywhere to find new sources of meaning and purpose.
Back in the 60s, Harvard professors, Richard Alpert and Timothy Leary tried LSD, which “opened their doors of perceptions” and they spoke about it publicly, sparking the psychedelic revolution. Later, Richard Alpert visited India, and had a profound encounters with his guru, Maharaji Neem Karoli Baba. Upon his return, now using the name his guru had given him, “Ram Dass” helped to lead an even more important, spiritual revolution.
His spiritual understanding deepened and matured over the years, including a deep exploration of spiritual service, chronicled in his important book, How Can I Help? Almost 14 years ago, he suffered a near-fatal stroke. That ordeal and his recovery sparked a spiritual reawakening, chronicled in the award-winning film, Fierce Grace. Following that, his book Still Here offered his generation openhearted wisdom about how to meet the challenges of aging. Now, his new book, Be Love Now, offers his ultimate wisdom — really loving right now is the essence of all paths, practices, and awakenings.
