Having spent more time on the couch and the cushion than any other group in society over the last fifty years, it’s a curious thing to note that even after decades of practice, most women still report a confusing and frustrating gap between the potential they sense for their lives and the reality they’ve been able to manifest. According to Feminine Power co-founder Claire Zammit “most of us feel about ten months pregnant with no way of getting the baby out. We’re more accomplished, educated and successful than any other generation of women in history, yet we sense that somehow we’re missing the mark—that the potential for our personal and spiritual development, our relationships, the expression of our creative gifts and talents and our impact on the world could be much greater—and we’re right!”
The problem, as Claire sees it, is that most spiritual and psychological practices have been designed by men for men in ways that don’t give women access to the transformative power they need to unleash their creative and spiritual potentials. Likewise, Goddess spirituality and many traditionally “Feminine” spiritual paths also don’t provide what’s needed for women at this new, post-feminist stage of development. What is needed however, is a new women’s spirituality for the 21st century that supports and empowers women not just to awaken to the primordial ground of being or the enchanted energies of mother earth but to cultivate the co-creative power to consciously evolve, self-express and co create those things that would truly cause our lives to flourish, thrive and fully participate in shaping the future of the world. I wish to know your religious affiliation. I am atheist and TOTALLY not interested in Christian discussions and dialogues regarding spirituality. I’ve heard more than enough of that. ALSO, what post-feminist period. I was an active part of the feminist movements of the 60s and 70s and know we have a LOT more work to do and don’t particularly care for the idea that we are POST anything other than menopause which isn’t great fun.

It sounds to me that Claire is on to something useful and good. Many of us with interests in all that is integral and evolutionary have beautiful visions that we just can’t seem to manifest very well in the real world of samsara. I trust that if people have the practical support of a cooperative community we could accomplish much more than if we follow the old ways of dog eat dog competition. As we are getting our personal lives together we will have much more to freely and selflessly offer to all beings.

This conversation seemed oddly out of place in this forum. Isn’t it disappointing to hear that women still have to huddle together — away from men. I cringed when I heard the title of this conversation, and I cringed during most of it. Terry, I hope you will bring into the conversation the voice of women who enjoy working together with men and women in robust and engaged conversation and work, truly Beyond Awakening – not from this place of fear and deficiencies.
I am loving this thought-provoking series by some of the great spiritual thinkers of our time and am looking forward to Claire Zammit’s views on women’s essential contributions to the evolution of our world.
So many women dream of freedom to be whatever they choose and are prevented from realizing their dreams by archaic, often religious interpretations of women’s place in the world.
I would like some discussion on women’s incredible strength to overcome adversity and also some discussion of the spiritual in personal relationships and how a bonding spiritual affinity is part of the process of effective change.
I have some difficulty with Andrew Cohen’s concept that spiritual relationships are always impersonal, eternal and never changing and that personal relationships can not be eternal because they are always changing… or that’s my understanding of part of his blog post, ‘I just called to say I love you.’

It is very nice to feel and see all this new wave to promote a better life and give the opportunity for us women to evolve
yet , even if I am going through internal transformation, It remains sometimes difficult to be physically alone ( I mean no group or real gathering ) around (I am in france) because as a human being i feel that I need support, encounters to refresh my soul…

I’d like this to be a question for tonight’s session and not a comment.
I’m a very attractive successful woman. I go online, I go out, I meet men but I just don’t seem to meet the One. My heart is open. I have gotten more realistic. I know everyone says this but I so don’t look ANYWHERE near my age of 61. I’ve been told by many that I carry a special LIGHT w/me but still I don’t magnetize him. Am starting to feel panicked. Feel shame that I’m this age and never been married and want to be.
